Modernize, Export, and Thrive – Join Meatco’s Transformative Projects
In continuation of the ongoing efforts and the distinguished relationships that connect the Egyptian-African Businessmen Association (EABA) with its strategic partners, and keen to enhance cooperation with external parties, we have received from Ambassador Albertus Aushamo, CEO of Meatco in Namibia, a proposal regarding strategic investment opportunities in the food processing and leather sectors in Namibia.
The proposed projects include:
Upgrading the Okapuka Tannery to transform it into a modern and environmentally friendly facility, increasing productivity and exporting high-quality leather to Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Scandinavian countries, while doubling employment and supporting the local value chain.
Upgrading the Meatco Cannery to expand production lines to include canned meat, luncheon meat, and chicken loaf, creating 150 direct jobs and hundreds of indirect jobs, while supporting food security and local production.
Reopening the Sheep Abattoir in Windhoek to meet export demand in the Middle East and the European Union, producing fully halal carcasses, creating 38 direct jobs and 100 indirect jobs, and supporting local farmers.
These projects represent attractive investment opportunities, combining strong financial feasibility with high returns, a tangible social and economic impact, and enhancing regional and international competitiveness through high-quality products compliant with international environmental and food standards.
Objectives:
Enhance investment in Namibia’s food processing and leather sectors.
Increase productivity and improve product quality to meet international standards and export to regional and global markets.
Create direct and indirect job opportunities and support local communities and farmers.
Support sustainable economic development and strengthen food security in Namibia.
Enhance regional and international competitiveness of participating Egyptian and African companies
