Successful visit to Jordan by the Egyptian-African Businessmen Association.
The Egyptian-African Businessmen Association, led by Dr. Yousrey ElSharkawi, conducted an intensive and fruitful visit to the Jordanian business and finance community. During the visit, they met with the President and members of the Board of Directors of the Jordanian Businessmen Association, the President and members of the Board of Directors of the Amman Chamber of Commerce and Jordan, as well as the President and members of the Jordan Industrial Chamber. They also met with a number of Lebanese businessmen and investors in Africa, as well as Iraqis. The purpose of the visit was to present the Egyptian-African Businessmen Association and the accomplishments they have achieved in African markets, and to discuss how Arab and African financial communities can collaborate, build connections, and open avenues to increase Arab-Arab and Arab-African trade. It also highlighted the active role that the Egyptian private sector and business organizations can play in this regard, as well as the important direction of leveraging the continent’s resources, such as raw materials, agricultural products not available in our markets, like tea and coffee. Furthermore, discussions focused on how to enhance efforts in sectors such as health tourism, information systems, and energy, which will create immense opportunities for the Egyptian and Jordanian private sectors in the short, medium, and long term.
ElSharkawi emphasized that his meeting with Mr. Hamdi Al-Taba, Chairman of the Jordanian Businessmen Association, was very productive, and they reached agreements to form an Egyptian-Jordanian think tank through a cooperation protocol that encompasses various areas of collaboration. This will contribute to joint efforts towards entering the African market. Mr. Khalil Al-Hajj, President of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, also expressed strong support for cooperation and readiness to assist and participate in all activities directed towards the African continent through the association.
Mr. Fathi Al-Jaghebeer praised the efforts of the association in the African file, and the members of the Jordan Industry Chamber expressed their readiness and eagerness to enter the African market. However, it is necessary for us to collectively discuss how to address problems and find effective solutions to the challenges facing trade between Egypt and Jordan, so that we can move together towards the African market. Al-Jaghebeer called for the necessity of holding an extensive meeting between all business sectors and organizations in both countries to develop effective solutions for our problems and present them as strong proposals to the governments of both countries.
Dr. Yousrey ElSharkawi chairman of the Egyptian-African Businessmen Association, also met with Ms. Reem Al-Muhaisen, President of the Rissala Al-Salam Organization for Community Development, which operates as a leading organization in entrepreneurship, digital transformation, women empowerment, and small and medium-sized enterprises. They agreed to establish a joint cooperation protocol between the association and the organization, aimed at connecting the association’s committees, including the African Women Committee, Entrepreneurship Committee, and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Committee, with the Asian side at the level of the Asian continent. The signing of this protocol and the announcement of its details will take place in Cairo soon.
