EABA & the Zambian Embassy Organize Webinar to Highlight Tourism in Zambia 2024

In continuation of its ongoing efforts and strong relationships with strategic partners, and in response to the interest of various external parties in collaborating with the association and its members, the Egyptian African Businessmen’s Association(EABA), in cooperation with the Zambian Embassy in Cairo, organized a webinar titled “Tourism in Zambia 2024.” This event aimed to provide key updates on Zambia’s tourism sector and to enhance private sector cooperation between Egypt and Zambia.

The webinar featured prominent figures from the tourism and investment sectors, including Dr. Yousrey El-Sherkawi, Chairman of EABA; Mr. Topply Mulambo Lubaya , Ambassador of Zambia to Egypt; and the Regional Tourism Coordinator from the Zambian Ministry of Tourism. Additionally, the event saw the participation of the President of the Zambian Travel Agents Association, the Vice President of the Zambian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Egyptian-African Businessmen Association, alongside a number of tourism industry professionals and agents from Zambia.

The session addressed various aspects of tourism in Zambia, focusing on ways to enhance investment, tourism exchange, and cultural cooperation between the private sectors of Egypt and Zambia. It aimed to highlight the unique opportunities Zambia offers as a tourist and investment destination and to provide valuable insights for fostering new collaborations and developing relations between the two countries.

Dr. Yousrey El-Sherkawi emphasized that the webinar represented a real opportunity to strengthen private sector cooperation between Egypt and Zambia in the tourism sector. He noted that fostering tourism and investment exchanges between the two countries requires a robust and effective partnership between the public and private sectors, a goal that the event sought to achieve by showcasing Zambia’s distinctive tourism opportunities.

Dr. El-Sherkawi also highlighted that the webinar provided participants from both sides with the chance to learn about Zambia’s rich culture and unique tourist attractions, contributing to stronger connections and mutual understanding between companies and investors in both countries. He asserted that increasing awareness of Zambia’s investment and tourism opportunities could open new avenues for collaboration and strategic partnerships between Egypt and Zambia.

On his part, Mr. Topply Mulambo Lubaya , the Zambian Ambassador to Egypt, stressed the importance of the webinar in strengthening bilateral relations and knowledge exchange between the two countries. He noted that Zambia is keen to attract more tourism investments from Egypt and is committed to supporting Egyptian investors in exploring opportunities in Zambia. He expressed optimism that the event would significantly contribute to enhancing tourism and cultural cooperation, benefiting both countries.

During the webinar, it was announced that a Zambian trade mission specializing in the tourism sector will visit Egypt on October 9, 2024. This visit will include a series of bilateral meetings aimed at enhancing cooperation and expanding business opportunities between the two countries in this field. Additionally, the launch of a new tourism initiative called “Zambia Tourism Week” was announced, aimed at attracting tourists to Zambia by showcasing the country’s rich culture and unique tourist attractions.

In closing, participants expressed their strong optimism regarding the outcomes of the event, reflecting both parties’ commitment to enhancing tourism and investment relations between Egypt and Zambia. They emphasized the importance of continued cooperation and knowledge exchange to maximize the benefits of available opportunities and foster growth in the tourism sector.

This event forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen private sector partnerships between Egypt and Zambia and to present Zambia as a premier tourism destination, contributing to new opportunities for cultural and economic cooperation between the two nations.
