EABA Chairman, Dr. Yousrey El-Sharkawi, along with a high-level delegation from the association, participated in the proceedings of the 7th International Conference organized by the Omani Association for Human Resources. This year’s conference, themed “Towards the Future in the Era of Artificial Intelligence Systems,” took place from February 12th to 15th, 2024, under the patronage and presence of Mr. Saud bin Hilal Al-Busaidi, the Governor of Muscat. The event saw participation and engagement from 30 countries, with over 70 speakers, participants, and exhibitors, and a total of 1000 attendees from around the globe. They convened in 10 workshops and 4 dialogue sessions.
Dr. Yousrey El-Sharkawi, EABA Chairman, presented a workshop entitled “Artificial Intelligence and its Role in International Trade,” during which he reviewed all the methods and systems that can be employed and adjusted with artificial intelligence applications in a way that contributes to maximizing and improving products, expanding the industry and production capabilities, and identifying trends, products, and degrees. Quality and measuring competitiveness according to a modern reading of the principles of added value in goods and services, which can be exchanged commercially and are more effective and profitable. The same applies to extrapolating market needs, preparing studies, providing and linking databases, analyzing consumer behavior, identifying future needs, and overcoming the challenges of cross-border trade, the most important of which are international financial transfers, as well as problems of transportation, logistics, and storage.
Dr. Yousrey El-Sharkawi was assigned to moderate a main dialogue session on the first day of the conference, in which 6 of the most prominent speakers in the Gulf region, including CEOs in the food security investment sectors, participated, represented by Sheikh Mohammed Al-Harithi, Chairman of the Omani Holding Company for Food Investments. As well as energy, represented by Dr. Amer Al-Matani, Head of the Oman Liquefied Gas Company, Dr. Jamal Al-Shaqsi, Professor of Artificial Intelligence at Sultan Qaboos University, the Oman Investment Authority, as well as the Governor of Al-Batinah North, His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Khalid Al-Kindi, and the Saudi Sports for All Federation, represented by Dr. Shaima Al-Husseini, Executive Director, and the sessions were held under the title Possibility. Benefiting from artificial intelligence applications to maintain sustainable development, The session reviewed points related to food security. and water security, As well as methods to control food waste, improve consumer behavior and storage methods, and discuss the possibility of preparing students and cadres academically in order to promote sustainable development and improve the quality of life. It was also discussed how to employ artificial intelligence and its applications in extrapolating the future global energy map in the face of challenges and how to work on providing clean energy and integrating This is in one equation that brings together artificial intelligence in the mechanisms and requirements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution
El-Sharkawi also pointed out that the session’s recommendations were reflected in the practical application vision and how to link this to urging the development of artificial intelligence applications that serve, for example, the practice of sports in order to improve public health levels, create champions in the Olympic Games from the early stages, and work to improve living methods, double the productive economy, and open horizons.
