Green Economy Investment Conference

The Egyptian-African Businessmen’s Association Headed by Dr. Yousrey ElSharkawi, organized Conference entitled “Investment Tools in the Green Economy” On 16 Nov

The conference was attended by members of the Arab African International Bank, and afreximbank Fund, and the African Union, With the participation of M. Iman Wehbe – General Partner of the Africa Growth Fund, Dr. Walid Hegazy – Partner and Founder of Hegazy Partners for Legal Consultations and Arbitration, Dr. Nader Khedr – Vice-Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Egyptian-African Businessmen Association and an investment and finance advisor, And in the presence of many businessmen, financiers, people interested in African affairs and the media.

Dr. Yousrey El-Sharkawi referred to the results of the climate summit in Glasgow and its issuance of a decision to finance $45 billion for countries supporting the control of carbon emissions. limiting the temperature increase by 1.5 degrees, And Egypt, as the organizer of the upcoming Continental Climate Summit, to promote investments at the continental level, It is entrusted with directing the proceeds of those funds to finance these projects.

He thanked the attendees, pointing out the importance of addressing the issue of investing in the green economy; For his role in supporting sustainable development projects and facing climate change, The Businessmen Association has relations with all the countries of the continent from the north to the south and from the east to the west. During her meetings with the continent’s officials, she translates what is going on in those discussions to support and stimulate investment in the brown continent.

Engineer Eman Wehbe confirmed the vision of one of the investment funds on the continent’s level, It is an Egyptian investment fund that works to help Egyptian startups expand into the African market. As well as assisting African companies to invest in Egypt to achieve integration between African markets, She referred to the challenges facing the continent and which entrepreneurs overcome by innovation and the use of modern technological sciences to enable them to expand green economy projects.

She indicated that we have pioneering countries in this field, such as: Rwanda, which sought to produce an electric car to reduce emissions harmful to the environment, In Egypt, we have entrepreneurs who directed their investments towards a green economy. African markets need this creativity and innovation, Africa suffers from a problem of energy shortage that affects all other sectors, In Egypt, there is an experiment to convert oil to biodiesel and export it to other countries. The companies convert agricultural waste into fertilizers for the soil and use it in crops that do not depend on chemical fertilizers.
