Expanded societal dialogue to assess & develop tax performance

The Egyptian Tax Authority received the delegation of the Egyptian-African Businessmen Association chairman Dr. Yousrey Elsharkawi and the accompanying delegation, M. Hussein Al-Ghazawi, Chairman of the Energy Committee, and M. Magdy Fanous, Head of the Planning and Follow-up Committee. The International Agreements Sector, in the presence of the heads of the sectors of value-added, income, computer, media, research and information technology

The meeting’s agenda came as a continuation of the purposeful and positive societal dialogue that serves the orientations of the Egyptian state and achieves the desire of the financial and business community and discusses aspects of cooperation in reaching optimal and effective solutions in most public tax problems and how to reach an integrated and consensual tax system that achieves the qualitative leap required for all parties to the system In light of the application of modern and electronic mechanisms and the introduction of digitization within the tax system

Dr. Yousrey Elsharkawi gave a general presentation on the general tax problems, which were collected from more than 200 businessmen, women and entrepreneurs who are members of the association. In his presentation, Elsharkawi  completed the mechanisms, foundations, themes, theses and ideas that must be taken from the perspective of the private sector to improve the level of the required tax system, declaring the association’s strong desire to contribute seriously to the processes of developing Egypt’s tax performance to serve the general goal, which will of course be reflected on all goals and achieve ambitions, both on the The level of raising tax revenue and reducing the budget deficit in balance with raising the rates of GDP in the direction of inclusive sustainable growth, as well as maintaining export mechanisms and the vision of the private sector in the indirect tax role in attracting foreign investment

It was agreed that there would be intense cooperation in the next stage with the Authority regarding the optimal development of the Authority’s new website, in which the research and development sector had come a long and distinguished way and it was in its final stages, as well as coordination with the Authority’s media sector to cooperate in a tax advisory awareness media system with more than A language in a long plan with multiple goals and in different languages to link the Egyptian tax community with the African and international community, and this will achieve a great impact for Egypt.
