The Egyptian-African Businessmen Association Headed by Dr. Yousrey ElSharkawi,participated, on 8september , In the activities of the important conference organized by the National Committee for Women in Science headed by Dr. Nabila Abdel Maqsoud, Under the auspices of the Minister of Higher Education, Which was held under the title “The State’s Efforts to Empower Women to Play Their Role in Eliminating Hunger and Malnutrition”.

During his participation, Dr. Yousrey ElSharkawi stressed the need to support women in Egypt and the African continent. that we have designated a commission for African women; To support the presence of women in the African labor market, And consolidating its successes in a way that contributes to achieving a sound family formation equation and contributing to the eradication of hunger as well as contributing to building a sustainable development system.

It is worth noting that the issue of gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls is at the center of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In addition to achieving gender equality and empowering women and girls, Among the sustainable development goals, However, we find this theme repeated in all of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Achieving gender equality and empowering women and girls is a mandatory precondition for breaking the cycle of poverty, hunger and malnutrition. And by recognizing this, More than 95 heads of state and government have pledged to “spur the pace for gender equality, They committed to take concrete and measurable actions towards achieving gender equality in their countries by 2030.

It was noted that women spend a larger share of the additional income that may be available to them than men spend on providing food, health, clothing and education for their children. And therefore, Strengthening the capabilities of rural women and empowering them is reflected in an improvement in the general level of well-being of children, families and communities. This, in turn, contributes to building human capital for future generations and to long-term social and economic growth.

As a result, Empowering rural women and girls is not only a basic need for agricultural development, It is also one of the most prominent components of social and economic progress and sustainable development in general.
