Commencement of Field Visits to Egyptian Factories by the Official Delegation from the Democratic Republic of Congo: Fashion Net Factory

Today marks the beginning of an intensive trade exchange program between the private sectors of Egypt and Congo. This program, organized through field visits, aims to introduce and network Egyptian products to facilitate actual business operations between the market of the Democratic Republic of Congo and Egyptian products and factories. The initiative is organized by the Egyptian African Businessmen’s Association, led by Dr. Yousrey El-Sharkawi, with careful planning and a vision to visit several distinguished and dedicated members of the association with capabilities in production, export, and foreign investment.

This morning, a visit was launched to the industrial zone in the city of ‘Obour’ to tour one of the most prominent and established ready-made clothing factories, ‘Fashion Net,’ which has export capabilities and experience. The factory offers a diverse range of products needed in the African continent, which the Congolese side is seeking.

The visit included Mrs. Rouqia Zaidi, Deputy and Secretary-General of Small and Medium Enterprises at the Ministry of Industry and Development of Congo, Mr. George, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Mr. Twala, the Commercial and Economic Consul at the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Congo in Cairo, along with several members of the delegation. The delegation was welcomed by Engineer Mohamed Ali Sabah, Chairman of Fashion Net and Vice President of the International Trade Committee of the Egyptian-African Businessmen Association.

Dr. Yousrey El-Sharkawi stated that this visit is part of activating the cooperation protocol signed between the association and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Congo. The delegation’s presence aims to establish contracts with several Egyptian companies in the fields of ready-made clothing, food, food industries, cosmetics, medical supplies, lighting, and electrical equipment. These visits will continue for a week to achieve many export opportunities for Egyptian products sought by the Congolese side.

During the visit, the Congolese visitors and traders reviewed the stages of producing ready-made clothing, from spinning and weaving to the final product. They observed the volume of production prepared for export to several global markets, including Turkey and the UAE, featuring both local and famous Turkish brand products.

At the end of the visit, the visitors expressed their strong desire to start dealing with Egyptian products. Mr. George, President of the Congolese Chamber, confirmed that six major importers of clothing in Congo would immediately receive samples to prepare for collaboration. Additionally, there is a plan to develop exclusive brands manufactured in Egypt for the Congolese market, with the aim of establishing a manufacturing unit in Congo within a few years.
