An Agreement between the Egyptian & Tunisian business communities

A session of important economic, commercial and investment talks was held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, between the Egyptian-African Businessmen Association chairman Dr. Yousrey Elsharkawi and the Tunisian-African Business Council headed by Mr. Anis Jaziri, in the presence and generous sponsorship of Mr. Mohamed Ben Youssef, the ambassador of Tunisia to the Arab Republic of Egypt. At the end of the first day, in the presence and supervision of the Tunisian ambassador, the two parties signed a joint cooperation protocol aimed at expanding joint work in the West African region through cooperation with the Tunisian-African Business Council, as well as opening the door for Tunisian products to the East African markets through the Egyptian-African Businessmen Association and its members.

At the beginning of the protocol signing ceremony, Dr. Yousrey Elsharkawi stressed in his speech that the Egyptian political leadership called this year the year of civil society, and we, as a continental association, aim with its activities to serve the inter-trade expansion between Egypt and various African countries. and entities involved in this important communication,

Elsharkawi indicated that we aim in this cooperation to participate strongly with the Tunisian-African Business Council in the activities of one of the largest investment and financing conferences and events that will be held in Tunisia and organized by the Council with the participation of many major financing entities and senior investment, finance, trade and industry men on the continent and from most parts of the world. It will be held on the twenty-seventh of next May, and we will participate in it with an honorable representation of Egypt at the level of the private sector

Elsharkawi  expressed his confidence in expanding cooperation with the Tunisian side, which has already started in the non-woven fabric sector, which is needed by Egypt and the Tunisian market. He also stressed cooperation in the fields of dates and olive oil, in order to exploit resources and employ mutual experiences between the two countries

The Tunisian ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mohamed bin Youssef, affirmed that we are keen to support efforts to expand economic, trade, investment and development cooperation between the two countries in an expanded way that serves long-term goals and deepens the sustainability of cooperation. Mr. Anis Al-Jaziri stressed his great happiness for visiting the Arab Republic of Egypt, and stressed that what he saw in Egypt in the administrative capital and New Cairo confirms in an unprecedented way that Egypt has undertaken comprehensive reforms and expansion that no reason can believe. We are keen to work to open the door in Africa for major Egyptian companies in West Africa and also work to negotiate funds with donors to find facilities for the entry of major Egyptian companies into infrastructure works within the African continent

Al-Jaziri indicated that he is fully ready to open the door in Côte d’Ivoire and Tunisia for the Wadi Degla company to invest in the telecommunications sectors and invest in the private club sectors. What Wadi Degla in Egypt and Kenya has provided is something completely encouraging to support the investment files of major Egyptian companies, and on the other hand, there is an urgent desire for many Tunisian businessmen from the council members have the desire to enter with Egyptian partners in many products because the Egyptian market is large and promising, and the aluminum industries and its requirements are what they seriously think about

It is worth mentioning that the Egyptian-African Businessmen Association has a large representative office run by Dr. Iman Trabelsi, and it is one of the major workers in international marketing and promotion in most fields, the most important of which is the olive oil sector. The Tunisian-African Business Council will also hold various meetings with Eng. Ali Issa, President of the Egyptian Businessmen Association, in the presence of Mr. Abdel Alim Nawara, President of the Egyptian-Tunisian Business Council, and Mr. Ibrahim Elaraby, President of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce.
