Engineer Sayed Farouk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Contractors, received the head of the Egyptian-African businessmen, Dr. Yousrey Elsharkawi, and a Gambian delegation headed by the Gambian Foreign Minister and Mr. Hatem Raslan. The Ambassador-at-Large for Communication for the State of Gambia, and in the presence of the Ambassador Extraordinary of the Gambia to Egypt, residing in Riyadh, the Governor of the Central Bank of Gambia, the Chairman of the Investment Authority, and the representative of the Islamic World Organization in Gambia.
The attendees reviewed the history of the Arab Contractors and the achievements it has achieved and the continuation of the bid process within 25 countries around the world, which confirmed the company’s worthiness in the partnership of the governments of countries in construction operations and the establishment of infrastructure to support the economies of countries, contributing indirectly to building and establishing prosperity for the people of these countries.
The Gambian side gave a presentation on the strategic importance of the state of Gambia, and that its population is close to 3 million, its income exceeds 4 billion dollars, and its area is 11,000 square kilometers, while it is distinguished by that strategic location in the West African region, the distinguished port of Banjul, political stability, aspiration to the world, and the reception of tourists and investors. From all over the world, in addition to its effectiveness in international, regional and continental organizations, which qualified it to host the next session this year of the Islamic World Summit, which aspires to the presence of Egyptian companies in logistics operations, organization and preparation.
The Gambian side also confirmed their invitation to the Arab contractors to enter into the infrastructure works immediately in constructing a road between the country’s airport and the port, as well as rehabilitating the Central Bank building and building the new building for the bank. They need the partnership of the Arab Contractors
Elsharkawi stated that this meeting came in an arrangement to bring out the activities with serious results, as we are always keen to work through the association to expand the strategy of joint African cooperation at the level of the financial and business community and the private sector management of African wealth. To enter and work in the African market steadily, and that all bilateral meetings and encounters result in good tidings for the entry of products, companies, projects and services to the countries of the continent, but we have to be patient with courage and the thought of sustainability in communication and rapprochement in order to truly confirm our worthiness in the fruitful African-African work
