Elsharkawi added that the symposium comes as a continuation of the series of seminars held by the association, to achieve its goals and plan, and Refaat stressed that the sector sheds light on the importance of maximizing the benefit from the various foreign trade agreements signed between Egypt and various countries and economic blocs, and spreading awareness of the advantages it provides to ensure increased competitiveness. of Egyptian exports and its strong presence in those markets.
Ahmed Refaat confirmed, Egyptian exports to COMESA countries are equivalent to 45% of Egypt’s total exports to Africa. He reviewed in detail the import and export laws and transactions.
During the seminar, he discussed the most important problems facing Egyptian exports in African markets. Emphasizing the importance of increasing the competitiveness of Egyptian exports, The protection of intellectual property rights for Egyptian products was discussed. and the role of WTO agreements, And how to take advantage of import and export laws.
Refaat explained that this comes within the framework of the keenness of the agreements and foreign trade sector to maintain continuous communication. And holding periodic meetings with various business organizations and associations concerned with export and import, Especially the Egyptian-African Businessmen Association; To introduce the various advantages of these agreements and the opportunities available, In addition to addressing the problems facing Egyptian exports in the markets of these countries, And put forward the necessary solutions to confront them.
At the end of the symposium, the two sides affirmed their continuity of work and continuous cooperation through a well-thought-out plan set with a timetable with clear objectives.
