On the first day of his business trip to participate in and inaugurate the International African Entrepreneurs Conference in Yaoundé, Cameroon, Dr. Yousrey El Sharkawi, Chairman of EABA, along with leaders of African entrepreneur delegations, met with H.E. Mounouna Foutsou, Cameroon’s Minister of Youth, Sports, and Education. Minister Foutsou, a key sponsor of the event, expressed Cameroon’s commitment to supporting business organizations, including entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises. He highlighted the emergence of a significant entrepreneurial organization from Cameroon and welcomed Dr. El Sharkawi, noting Egypt’s influential role in Africa under President Sisi’s leadership and the importance of this visit.
Dr. El Sharkawi began his speech by expressing pride and appreciation for the warm hospitality received in Yaoundé. He emphasized the need to translate the existing camaraderie into economic and business collaborations. He highlighted that the Egyptian private sector is ready to provide products, expertise, and support to the continent, and called for increased support from African governments.
El Sharkawi expressed hope for positive outcomes from the meetings and conference, mentioning that he brought files for over ten serious companies from the association. These companies, with experience in stadium construction, product supply, and other fields, are prepared to collaborate with Cameroonian entrepreneurs under the Ministry’s support. He also discussed the potential for cooperation in construction materials, energy projects, and food products, emphasizing readiness to assist in agriculture, storage, and meat processing.
He concluded by reiterating the association’s commitment to strengthening private sector ties across Africa, not just between Egypt and Cameroon, under the overarching motto: “From Africa to Africa.”
