Continuing the ongoing efforts and the distinguished relations between the Egyptian African Businessmen Association and its strategic partners, and in line with strengthening cooperation with external entities, the Association has received an invitation to participate in the online webinar organized in cooperation with the European partner COLEAD under the AGRINFO programme, aiming to familiarize participants with the latest developments in the regulations and legislation issued by the European Union regarding the agri-food industry sector, particularly policies related to Maximum Residue Levels (MRL) of pesticides and their potential impact on Egyptian agricultural exports to European markets.
The webinar is scheduled to be held on 2 March 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (Cairo time). It will discuss the possible changes in EU pesticide MRL policies, review the current regulatory framework, and examine future updates, as well as the impact of the proposed amendments on Egyptian agricultural and food exports to the European market. The session will also introduce the tools developed by the AGRINFO programme to help export sectors monitor expected regulatory changes and prepare in advance.
The webinar will further present the mechanisms for setting pesticide maximum residue levels within the European Union, discuss the new MRL tracking system, review the 2026 proposals related to food import regulations, explore opportunities to provide feedback on European proposals, and address the increasing control measures on Egyptian exports along with the expected implementation timelines. Additionally, it will discuss the upcoming French decree concerning five pesticide substances and its potential impact on export flows.
The Association invites all those interested in the agri-food sector to participate in this important webinar, as it represents a valuable opportunity to stay updated on the latest legislative and regulatory developments in the European market, supporting Egyptian export plans and enhancing the competitiveness of national products.
