Digital Investment Opportunity in Sri Lanka

In continuation of the ongoing efforts and distinguished relationships linking the Egyptian-African Businessmen Association (EABA) with its strategic partners, and in a bid to enhance cooperation with external entities, we have received an invitation from the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Cairo regarding a Request for Information (RFI) addressed to qualified investors, developers, and operators, to participate in a government initiative to establish and develop Data Centers and Cloud & AI Infrastructure on a large scale in Sri Lanka.

The initiative aims to attract investments in sovereign data centers and digital infrastructure, supporting high-performance computing, AI applications, and national digital services, while providing opportunities for partnership with the Sri Lankan government.

Accordingly, we invite companies interested in technology, data centers, energy, and digital infrastructure to review and participate, noting that the deadline for submitting responses is 8 January , 2026.

Objectives:

  • Engage in a strategic government-backed project supported by the Sri Lankan Government and Investment Authority.

  • Invest in a high-growth sector including data centers, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence.

  • Access direct partnership opportunities with the Sri Lankan government or through PPP models.

  • Capitalize on the growing global demand for data center services and AI infrastructure.

  • Enhance regional and international expansion for Egyptian and African companies in a promising Asian market.

  • Benefit from investment incentives and facilitation (land, energy, regulatory support).

  • Contribute to national digital sovereignty projects and infrastructure with long-term strategic returns.
