The Egyptian African Businessmen Association and the Tanzanian Embassy organize a virtual conference to highlight tourism in Tanzania

During the Egyptian-Tanzanian virtual tourism conference, “Tanzania invites Egyptian investors and businessmen to the Swahili International Tourism Exhibition in October”
In continuation of the efforts, activities and distinguished relations that link the Egyptian African Businessmen Association, headed by Dr. Yousrey El-SharKawi, with its strategic partners, in which some external parties are keen to cooperate with the association and its members, and is an important step towards strengthening tourism, investment and cultural relations between Egypt and Tanzania, the Egyptian African Businessmen Association, in cooperation with the Tanzanian Tourism Authority and the Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in Egypt, under the auspices of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism in Tanzania, organized a webinar entitled “Tourism in Tanzania”, intending to enhance tourism, investment, and cultural exchange between the private sectors of Egypt and Tanzania and provide the latest updates in this field.
The webinar witnessed a distinguished presence of a number of prominent figures in the tourism and investment sector, headed by Dr. Yousry El-Sharkawy, Chairman of the Egyptian African Businessmen Association, Mr. Richard Makanzo, Ambassador of Tanzania in Cairo, Mr. Ephraim Baluzi Mavoro, Director General of the Tanzania Tourism Authority, Ms. Hafsa Mbamba, CEO of the Zanzibar Tourism Commission, and Mr. Hany El-Fayoumi, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Egyptian African Businessmen Association.
The event addressed the challenges facing the tourism sector in Tanzania and the opportunities available for its growth and development. The conference also provided an opportunity for direct interaction with representatives from the tourism sector in Tanzania, including tourism operators, government delegates and local experts, which enhanced the exchange of knowledge and expertise. Comprehensive information was provided on the main tourist sites in Tanzania, with a focus on enhancing tourism investment opportunities by presenting Tanzania as a distinguished investment destination and presenting the opportunities available to investors.
Dr. Yousrey El-Sharkawi, Chairman of the Egyptian African Businessmen’s Association, stressed the importance of developing tourism and investment cooperation between the Egyptian and Tanzanian private sectors. El-Sharkawi explained that Tanzania has unique natural and tourism assets that make it a promising investment destination, noting that this cooperation can contribute to strengthening economic relations between the two countries. He said: “Tanzania is not just a tourist destination, but a large investment market that needs to be discovered by Egyptian investors.”
El-Sharkawi added the need to exploit the available opportunities to enhance cooperation in the field of tourism between the two countries. He stated that Tanzania is constantly working to improve its tourism infrastructure and provide benefits and facilities to foreign investors. He added: “We believe that tourism can be one of the main drivers of the growth of economic relations between Egypt and Tanzania, and we at the Egyptian African Businessmen Association will do our utmost to support these efforts.” He also expressed his optimism about the future of bilateral relations between Egypt and Tanzania in the fields of tourism and investment.
For his part, Mr. Richard Makanzo, Tanzania’s Ambassador to Cairo, expressed his happiness at organizing this virtual conference, stressing the depth of historical relations between Egypt and Tanzania. Makanzo pointed out that his country is constantly seeking to enhance cooperation with Egypt in various fields, especially in the tourism sector. He added: “Tanzania has unique natural beauty and a diverse culture, and we believe that strengthening partnerships with Egypt, especially for the private sector, will benefit both countries, whether in tourism exchange or in other investment fields.”
During the activities of the Egyptian-Tanzanian Virtual Tourism Conference, Tanzania extended an official invitation to Egyptian investors and businessmen to participate in the Swahili International Tourism Exhibition scheduled to be held next October. This exhibition is a unique opportunity to explore investment opportunities in the Tanzanian tourism sector and to enhance economic relations between the two countries. The exhibition is expected to witness a wide presence of major investors and tourism operators from around the world, providing an ideal platform to enhance tourism and investment cooperation.
At the end of the webinar, participants praised the importance of enhancing future private sector cooperation between Egypt and Tanzania in various economic and tourism fields, stressing that this type of event contributes significantly to building new bridges of cooperation and development between the two countries. The need to continue dialogue and communication between the concerned parties from both sides was also emphasized to drive development and joint investment, especially in light of the great opportunities offered by the tourism sector and other vital sectors in Tanzania.
