Today, a cooperation protocol was signed between EABA & the Turkish African Business Association, marking a significant step in reflecting the depth of economic relations between the two countries and their commitment to enhancing mutual cooperation across the African continent.
EABA is a prominent entity focused on strengthening economic collaboration between Egypt and African nations. Established five years ago, the association operates through 22 sectoral committees, striving to provide a platform for Egyptian businessmen to connect with their African counterparts and support joint investments.
The Turkish African Business Association has been dedicated to fostering commercial, diplomatic, social, and cultural ties between Turkey and Africa since 2012. It plays a key role in advancing economic relations, developing joint projects, and exchanging expertise between Turkish and African businessmen.
The protocol aims to enhance economic and investment cooperation between Egypt and Turkey in Africa by facilitating the exchange of knowledge and expertise between Egyptian and Turkish business leaders across various economic sectors. It also seeks to develop joint projects in areas such as agriculture, industry, and technology, and to organize joint trade events and conferences to open new avenues for collaboration between companies and institutions from both countries.
Dr. Yousrey El-Sharkawi, Chairman of EABA, emphasized that signing this cooperation protocol with the Turkish African Business Association represents a crucial strategic step in strengthening economic relations between the private sectors of Egypt and Turkey. Fatih Akbulut, President of the Turkish African Business Association, expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation, stating, “Signing this protocol reflects our commitment to strengthening economic ties with the Egyptian private sector and businessmen. Trade between Egypt and Turkey has recently shown notable growth, reaching $6.6 billion in 2023. This reflects the deepening economic relations between the two countries and the diversity of traded goods and products, enhancing opportunities for mutual cooperation and investment.
The two associations are also preparing to organize the AFEX exhibition in Turkey from November 11-13, which is one of the region’s prominent trade events.
