Yesterday, a webinar titled “Benin&Egypt Business Day” was held, in close collaboration between the Egyptian African Businessmen Association, the Egyptian Embassy in the Republic of Benin, and the Investment and Export Promotion Agency (APIEx). It achieved tangible success.

The event witnessed a distinguished attendance by Her Excellency Ambassador Ragaa Elwakeel. Ambassador of Egypt to Benin, In addition to Dr. Yousrey El-Sharkawi, Chairman of EABA Mr. Moubarak SOUMANOU Director General of the Investment and Export Promotion Agency (APIEx). In addition to a distinguished group of businessmen from Egypt and Benin.

Mr. Alex Bain, representing the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), participated by giving a presentation on the EBRD’s operations in Benin and sharing his vision regarding financing programs that will soon be available for the private sector in Benin through the bank. He emphasized the EBRD’s commitment to supporting economic development in Benin, highlighting the crucial role of the private sector in achieving this goal.
He smoothly presented an overview of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s investments in Benin. Mr. Bain focused on the sectors funded by the bank, and he also mentioned the new programs that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will soon launch to support the private sector in Benin.
These programs include dedicated financing lines for companies and projects in Benin. Mr. Bain also expressed his confidence that these new programs will contribute to attracting more investments to Benin. creating new job opportunities, And enhance comprehensive economic growth in the country.

El Sharkawi added that participation in this event comes to exchange experiences and knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship and trade, expressing his hope that this event will contribute to enhancing economic and trade relations between the two countries and achieving sustainable growth for businesses and investments.

2. Enhancing communication and understanding between Egypt and Benin: The importance of strengthening the economic and trade relations between the two countries was emphasized, which contributes to enhancing trade exchange and achieving more mutual benefits.
3. Exchanging experiences and knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship and trade: Panel discussions were organized on how to enhance entrepreneurship and develop business partnerships between Egyptian and Beninese companies. This supports cultural and knowledge exchange between the two parties.
4. Encouraging government support to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries: The importance of the government’s role in supporting economic cooperation between Egypt and Benin was highlighted, and providing necessary support to investors and businessmen from both countries.
It’s worth mentioning that a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Egyptian African Businessmen Association and the Investment and Export Promotion Agency (APIEx) to enhance cooperation between the two sides in the fields of investment and trade.

Both Mr. Moubarak SOUMANOU, the General Manager of the Investment and Export Promotion Agency (APIEx), and Dr. Yousrey El Sharkawi, Chairman of EABA expressed their happiness at signing this memorandum, confirming that the cooperation between the Egyptian African Businessmen Association and the Investment and Export Promotion Agency (APIEx) will significantly contribute to enhancing economic relations between Egypt and Benin. They emphasized that this memorandum represents an important step towards strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries, indicating that both parties will work to provide all facilitations for Egyptian companies interested in investing in Benin.
