EABA Is In Hospitality Of Senegal’s Ambassador

Dr. Yousry El-Sharqawy, President of the Egyptian-African Businessmen Association, headed a delegation of businessmen of the association; To participate in a mini-meeting with the Ambassador of Senegal, Dr. Abu Bakr Sar, and Mr. Mohamed El-Amin, the Ambassador’s first advisor. The meeting was held on Sunday, May 15, at the Senegalese ambassador’s residence in Cairo.

The delegation included a number of chairmen and deputies of the association’s committees, led by Al-Sharqawi, who are: Secretary-General of the Association, Mustafa Al-Amir, head of the Export Committee, Sherif Suleiman, Vice President of the Export Committee, Karim Al-Barqouqi, and Vice President of the International Trade Committee, Muhammad Sabah. And Chairman of the Labor and Social Responsibility Committee, Maha Mahjoub, Vice Chairman of the Sports Investment Committee, Karim Ismail, member of the Energy Committee and responsible for Senegal’s file, Neven Adel, and Director of Public Relations, Maha El Khadraoui.

Dr. Yousry El-Sharqawy reviewed, during the meeting, the association’s fields of work and achievements, and the support it provides to the countries of the African continent. He also presented the association’s vision and strategy. El-Sharqawy stressed the desire of the Egyptian private sector to increase joint investments between the two countries.

He added that the association seeks to participate effectively in achieving the orientations of the Egyptian state towards joint African action, and looks forward to opening new horizons with the private sector in African countries, stressing that joint work with the Senegalese side will provide many opportunities and products for Egypt and Senegal.

He pointed to the possibility of expanding agricultural investment between the two countries, stressing that Egypt needs yellow corn, and that we must provide our needs from within the continent itself, as we import 13 million tons of yellow corn from non-African countries. Instead, why not expand agricultural investment to produce corn In Senegal and supplying it to Egypt, we should seriously consider pushing our investments to the African depth, especially in necessary sectors such as agriculture and food security.

Dr. Abu Bakr Sarr, Ambassador of the Republic of Senegal, expressed his happiness to meet the delegation of African Egyptians. He also expressed his deep gratitude for the strength of Senegalese relations with Egypt, stressing that what he sees in the association’s experience is unique.

Dr. Abu Bakr Sarr stressed the possibility of expanding yellow maize production and exporting to Egypt, stressing that Senegal is fully prepared for this. He explained that Senegalese lands are suitable for growing wheat, and that the Senegalese private sector has a desire to increase and expand agricultural investment in cooperation with Egypt.

For his part, Mostafa El-Amir, Secretary-General of the association, stressed that the Egyptian private sector has a desire to unite and expand within the continent, stressing that the Egyptian market for ready-made garments and textiles is ready for export to Senegal, and added that the association’s health committee is able to provide the integrated health services that the Republic of Senegal needs to serve its citizens.

Sherif Suleiman, Vice-Chairman of the Export Committee, stressed the need to coordinate with the Senegalese side; to establish clear business plans and agreements; To facilitate export and import operations between the two countries, stressing that the Egyptian private sector has a great willingness to provide all aspects of support to the State of Senegal, especially with our desire to support the countries of the continent and enhance cooperation with Egypt.

Al-Sharqawi said during his speech, “I imagine that we need to give the work in which we all strive a lot of effort and time, and to make an intense mental and practical effort in order to establish stable lines of work.”

Neven Adel stated that the Egyptian private sector is ready to participate in energy production projects in Senegal and the continent as a whole, and confirmed that the expansion of these projects will alleviate the suffering of citizens in Senegal.

The meeting is scheduled to be followed by several visits to some Egyptian companies and facilities. The attendees were invited to visit a number of major companies in the field of electrical transformers and energy. An initiative was also arranged to organize a trip to Senegal. To support the interconnectedness of the continent, the Assembly also confirmed its desire to receive delegations from Senegal; To experience medical tourism in Egypt.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Senegalese ambassador affirmed his country’s desire to enhance cooperation with Egypt in all fields and create investment opportunities in Senegal. He welcomed the association’s desire to visit his country, and affirmed Senegal’s keenness to receive them as soon as possible. To be able to see investment opportunities in all fields.
