The Egyptian-African Businessmen Association, headed by: Dr. Yousrey ElSharkawi, Today, 1Jun , on the Zoom app, organized a conference entitled “Supporting Women and Their Role in Promoting Economic Recovery”.
A group of women leaders from Egypt and Africa participated in the conference. He reviewed the most prominent experiences of women’s successes and discussed the challenges facing the African continent and the intelligent recovery after Covid 19.
Dr. Amani Abou Zeid, African Union Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy and Vice-President of the Assembly spoke about the smart and green recovery in the post-Covid-19 African continent, Eng. Abeer Leheta, Chairman and Managing Director of Egytrans and Head of the Women’s Committee in the Association, spoke about the opportunities and challenges facing African women to succeed in executive management.
Babtsias Gebo, Vice-Chairman of the Women’s Committee in the Assembly in Ghana, reviewed some experiences and success stories of African businesswomen and ways to support the success of African women entrepreneurs. The conference included another panel discussion on finance and the role of banks and financial institutions in supporting African investments and developing trade after the pandemic.
Earlier, Dr. Yousrey ElSharkawi confirmed that the conference will be attended by more than 11 speakers from 7 African countries, led by the main speaker of the conference, Dr. Amani Abu Zeid, Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy of the African Union. The conference will contribute to identifying the role of African women in relation to African brown trade. As well as the role of women in particular with regard to economic recovery after the Corona pandemic.
ElSharkawi added that the association is working through the conference to open horizons for African women to be able to present and promote their products and services. And it tries to be a nucleus for women to participate extensively in B2B bilateral business meetings, And that it also contribute to encouraging online buying and selling and increasing the rates of acquaintance, which paves the way for building trust to expand the horizons of trade between women in the African financial and business community.
El-Sharkawi indicated that the conference aims to identify the foundations and ways of success of African women entrepreneurs in micro-enterprises and the importance of this in promoting intra-African trade. and creating a suitable business environment for African women through transformation programs and strategic partnerships, This conference is also a channel for African women entrepreneurs to communicate and exchange information about products and services and exchange experiences.
